Exploring the healing power of colour and soft depictions of self.

Black men have been conditioned to think that they must perform hyper masculinity in everything they do. Challenging anything that may conflict with their instruction.

With this pair of portraits I wanted to show how embracing things that we've been told to avoid are just as beautiful on us.

From infancy we are told boys don't cry, make to think vulnerability is weakness when all it is is human.
