Belladonna Project

Someone you love is probably a sex worker and you don’t even know it.

In New York, I found myself unexpectedly surrounded by a community of strippers, cam-girls, sugar babies, and full-service sex workers - among them my collaborator Emily, whose invitation and proposition of this project opened the door to their world. Belladonna Project is about breaking taboos and humanising a population too often flattened by cliché or moral panic. Rather than reinforcing a voyeuristic gaze, I collaborate with sex workers on these portraits, balancing the line between staged and documentary with humour and softness. 

This project was made in close collaboration with Emily Bjelica and is currently ongoing.
