Artificial light is, even compared to human history, a recent invention and is now permanently illuminationg the nocturnal hemisphere. In this project i deal with the repression of darkness.

Tungsten is the chemical element with the highest melting and boiling point, and therefore has the perfect properties to be used as a filament in light bulbs. In this role, it prevailed in the early 20th century against other materials previously used for this. With the invention of electric light, a process began with which humankind could suspend the natural change of day and night at will. However, this development has not only positive consequences: sleep disorders, the disruption of sensitive ecosystems and the dying of insects. Even the view up to the stars is so heavily overshined by artificial light sources that as city people we lose our placing in the cosmic system.
