The Hungarian title “A Duna Vallomása” can be translated as “The Danube’s Testimony”. The English title ”By the Danube” refers to the life giving, nourishing nature of big rivers. She has the role of a witness, who was here way before us. Nothing can be hidden from her; she knows the collective and personal truth, but only tells it in selected moments and locations.
All images were taken between 2022 and 2024 in Cuba and Hungary.
