A broad perspective on the first year of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with image and text contributions from 93 international and Ukrainian photojournalists. Bilingual: Ukrainian and English.
Ukraine: A War Crime is a collection of over 360 photographs and texts by ninety-three photojournalists from 29 countries, united to present their firsthand testimony about the Russian invasion of Ukraine from the perspective of those tasked with documenting it. The images and reports cover the conflict, the humanitarian catastrophe, and war crimes investigations, revealing the indiscriminate violence of the Russian assault and the displacement of millions of people. It is an account of the first-hand experience of photojournalists at work in a war zone.
Ukraine: A War Crime delves deep beneath the news to tell intimate stories of survivors and witnesses to atrocities, as these photojournalists were often among the first people into liberated villages. In addition to providing intimate stories of what many Ukrainians endured, the book includes images on all aspects of the war from across Ukraine, to draw a sweeping account of the destruction, the civilian toll of the war and the crimes committed on Ukrainian soil. The book is 540 pages with 366 color and black and white photographs and 38 personal essays from photographers, size: 20 x 32cm, bi-lingual in Ukrainian and English.
