Is this the Middle East by Rayane Jemaa

From the Battle of 73 Easting to Call of Duty, what does it mean to desire control through simulation? What happens when reality is translated into a model and, ultimately, when we start to play with it?

Faced with a loss of meaning that seems to characterise our times, Rayane Jemma’s eerie images and Dario Bassani’s text on simulated warfare invites us to reflect on the desire to dominate the world through processes of simulation, on what happens when reality is translated into a model and, ultimately, what happens when we start to play with it.
