The third edition of our International Photography Festival closes with more than 11,000 visitors, 15 exhibitions, 39 talks and other beautiful moments that celebrated the importance of visual languages.

The PhMuseum International Photo Festival recently closes its doors after two weeks dedicated to exploring visual cultures. The initiative represented an opportunity for the PhMuseum community to meet, share and consolidate, with groups of alumni from our masterclasses and applicants of our open call program joining us from all over Europe, and beyond.

The festival exhibited 15 works answering to the theme I Don't Know How To Respond To That. Together, they activated dialogues around how human beings relationship with technology evolves in a context of continuous innovations. Over 11,000 visitors joined us in 6 venues across the city of Bologna, in addition to one in Milan. The festival involved more than 60 international artists, 40 guests involved in our talks and presentations program, and 7 publishers participating in the Photobook Hub. This edition further comprised workshops, online portfolio reviews, screenings, guided tours with artists and curators, and moment dedicated to high school students.

Our gratitude goes to the artists, the visitors, the speakers, the volunteers, the sponsors, our team members, the Municipality of Bologna, and all the people who joined forces with us to make this edition happen. The festival returns next year with the aim of growing internationally and become a relevant event to invite our online community to gathering in person.

Meanwhile, our education and grant programs continue, with a new exhibition scheduled at PhMuseum Lab towards the end of the year. Stay tuned, we look forward to meeting you again in Bologna and online.
