Have a sneak peek at the international publishers and booksellers who will attend our new biennial event dedicated to photography and printed matter taking place on 18-19 October in Bologna, Italy.

At the heart of Photobook Mania 2025 is the celebration of publishing as a fundamental medium for artistic expression. The publishers and booksellers we've invited are the critical actors in this ecosystem, fostering emerging talent, pushing the boundaries of design, and facilitating the global dialogue around the printed image. Get a first look at some of those who will be joining us within the 500 sqm natural setting of serra madre.

CESURA Publish / Pianello Val Tidone, Italy

Cesura’s independent photography publishing house and established in 2010, CESURA Publish started printing its first publications to self-promote its members’ photographic projects. Today, the publishing house still maintains its core values by releasing a selected range of photobooks that are the result
of the diverse body of work of Cesura’s photographers.

Luca Santese and Marco P. Valli will present their book Texas Trigger, published by CESURA Publish.

Départ Pour l’Image / Milan, Italy

Départ Pour l’Image is an independent publisher and editorial lab based in Milan. Interested in the intersection of multiple languages, they define an editorial line focused on the possibilities of the image on the border between photography and contemporary art. Their editions are mainly printed and bound in Italy with sustainable materials. Occasionally, Départ also curates exhibitions.

Havaiana Papers is an artist-run platform for distribution of independent Brazilian photobooks, spreading the word about fresh, tropical, interesting titles.

Clara Simas will present her book My Father Died Three Times, published by Propágulo.

Tiratura is an innovative hub dedicated to visual storytelling, image pedagogy, graphic design and sustainable printing. Founded in Ravenna in 2023 and recently stablished as a cultural association, Tiratura is composed of a core group of people with extensive experience in the visual arts, art education and design. The space houses a photography library with almost 2,000 titles from all over the world and has a semi-artisan and sustainable Risograph® printing workshop, which allows for the independent production of publications, posters and other graphic materials with a low environmental impact, an original look and reduced costs.

RUST Publishing / Poland

RUST Publishing was founded on the belief of collectively aiming for the better of the photographic medium. Their practice therefore heavily emphasizes the visual language of an ever-changing postmodern society. Whilst constantly discussing the limitations of the medium, RUST strives to create a distinct experience with every publication they pursue.

Zoetrope is an artist-run space based in Athens, devoted to collaborative artistic practices, co-learning and transdisciplinary experimentation. Zoetrope's programming is wide-ranging, with a special focus on films, photobooks, and archives. Their mission is to catalyze the creation of intimate and inclusive creative communities.

Rvm Hub is an independent micro-publishing house and editorial studio: it focuses on photography and loves to seek out photographic projects that are capable of creating new artistic terrain with other forms of storytelling. FotoEvidence's mission is to draw attention to injustice, oppression and assaults on human dignity through the lens of photographers working in the humanistic tradition. Their books focus on the most pressing social and environmental justice issues of our time—from genocide to global warming. They are published to inspire social change, to expose injustice, to create enduring evidence and call for accountability.

Founded in 2013 from an idea by Gianluca and Gianmarco Gamberini, and specialised in the presentation of photographic collections, L’Artiere Edizioni strongly believes in the concept of quality and attention to every detail of the finished product, devoting itself to the creation of volumes that are aesthetically pleasing and made to last, not only aimed at expert photographers or collectors, but also at fans or people who simply want to catch up with the world of contemporary photography.

ISIA U / Urbino, Italy

ISIA U focuses on an experimental approach to photography, understood as a tool for investigating and constructing places that connect images with design thinking. The teaching approach, based on design and research, encourages dialogue among different authors and theorists, promoting ongoing discussion on the evolving form of contemporary visual representation. Through diverse experiences, different methodological approaches, and a variety of themes, the course guides students in the development of a critical and narrative awareness of photographic language, with a view to communication projects in general and editorial and publishing projects in particular.

GOST Book / United Kingdom

Founded in 2012, GOST Books is an independent visual arts and photography publisher based in London. They pride themselves on an uncategorisable output of diverse subject matter and design: from a chronicle of seven men claiming to be the Messiah; a study of Turkish soap operas; art works inspired by the largest breeding grounds for flamingos in the Southern Hemisphere; archive photographs from the Mexico City police department; to portraits of winners of state-run competitions in Belarus.

PhMuseum / Bologna, Italy

PhMuseum will be present with the new annual printed magazine, which will be launched on Saturday 18 October, 6pm. Titled Imperfetto, it is the first editorial printed issue in fourteen years of activity. It is made possible thanks to the work of sixty-eight artists and eleven contributors. In addition to the magazine, visitors can purchase copies of the festival's catalogues and the book trilogy dedicated to mobile photography.
