Day470【Threshold】
DEAR naozo,
Is it
an entrance
or an exit
You seek a name
Call it an entrance
and you believe
there is something ahead
Call it an exit
and you justify
what brought you here
But the moment
you name it
thought stops
Safety
is the end of thought
If you have known it
release
What comes next
arrives only
to an empty hand
And yet
if you wish to know
hold
Shallow minds
rush forward
Depth
remains
Those who release
gain quantity
Those who hold
gain depth
Both are right
both are wrong
To move
is to abandon
To remain
is to refuse to abandon
Do not desire only beginnings
Do not be drunk on endings
Accept both
Receive
while you sever
Gain
while you lose
Be born
while you shed
You who stand there
decide
What you abandon
and what you still refuse
to abandon
That alone
names the place
Is it
an entrance
or an exit
Do not answer
Stand
undecided
Only that trembling
turns a threshold
into fate

This story is a work of fiction. Except for the named individuals, all elements are products of imagination. The boundary between reality and fiction is intentionally ambiguous, and its interpretation is left to the reader.
