Circulation(s) 2025 Open Call
Deadline 4 August / Entry fee €20
The next edition of Circulation(s) will take place from April 5th to June 1st, 2025 at the Centquatre-Paris, in addition to satellite locations in France and abroad. Under the artistic direction of the Fetart Collective, made up of 8 independent curators specializing in emerging photography – Mano Bourcart, Clara Chalou, Carine Dolek, Laetitia Guillemin, Marie Guillemin, Emmanuelle Halkin, Claire Pathé and Delphine Rodet – the festival invites all photographers of European nationality and/or resident in Europe at the start of their careers, who have never had a major exhibition in France. All applicants are welcome to submit photographic projects that mix formats or involve other media such as video, installation, or sound. Selected artists will be included in the festival's main program and receive a €300 artist fee. Fetart Collective will take care of the exhibition production and will provide accommodation, and return transport.

FORMAT25 Open Call

The 2025 festival theme is Conflicted, which can be interpreted in multiple ways; but the fact – or facts – remain that our world is in even more of a heightened state of flux than ever before. Artists and curators are invited to apply diverse and imaginative proposals. Up to 5 selected artists will receive an exhibition during FORMAT25 held between 13 March and 6 April 2025, a £1,000 (€ 1,190) artist fee, the reimbursement of travel costs up to £300 (€355), plus accommodation during the main opening weekend of the festival. The festival will cover the production costs for the exhibition. In addition, the selected works will be featured in a copy of the festival catalogue and will have the opportunity to win one of the FORMAT25 Open Call awards.
Among the judges are Zoe Harrison, Jean-Christophe Godet, Wang Peiquan, Wang Xueke Isabella, Clare Grafik, Franek Ammer, Varun Nayar, Louise Fedotov-Clements, Gemma Marmalade, Peter Bonnell and Poulomi Basu.

The Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant 2024

The Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant is an international photographic competition for young photographers who are 24 years of age or under, or anyone who is studying in a full-time photographic course. Each winner will receive £10,000 (€11,895) as support for their project, plus the publication of images by their media partner The Guardian, a loan of Canon equipment for 1 year for the IP Grant winner to complete their proposed project, and inclusion in the Hamburg portfolio review. In addition, they are eligible for inclusion in the Canon Transmissions Programme at Visa Pour L'Image in Perpignan.

Daniele Tamagni Grant 2024/2025

The third edition of Daniele Tamagni Grant is addressed to emerging photographers whose work engages with the African continent or its diaspora, without restrictions in terms of the applicant’s nationality or specific theme. The selected photographer will receive a one-year scholarship to attend the Photojournalism & Documentary Photography Programme (PDP) at The Market Photo Workshop in Johannesburg, South Africa, from the end of January 2025 to early December 2025, and a monthly stipend to support local living expenses. This year, thanks to the new partnership with Africa Foto Fair, the winner will also have the chance to showcase the body of work developed during the scholarship at the next edition of Africa Foto Fair in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The jury is composed of Aïda Muluneh, Khona Dlamini, Chiara Bardelli Nonino, Marco Longari, Bindi Vora, Peggy Sue Amison, and Christopher Udoh.

Carmignac Photojournalism Award 2024
Deadline 19 August / No entry fee
The Fondation Carmignac provides the laureate with financial and human resources to carry out their project aiming to shed light on the crises and challenges that the contemporary world is facing. The 15th edition of the Carmignac Award supports the production of an investigative photo report documenting violations and the consequences of intensive fishing in Southeast Asia. Selected by an international jury, the laureates receive a €50,000 grant to carry out a 9-month field report with the support of the Fondation Carmignac, which produces, upon their return, a traveling exhibition and a dedicated website.

Other Deadlines
2024 Lucie Scholarship Program / Deadline 1 September / Entry fee €14-23
The Lucie Foundation offers four cash grants and a variety of prizes to support the work of emerging and established photographers. Photographers can apply in two categories, Fine Art and Photojournalism / Documentary. The selected authors for each category will receive a $3,000 (€2,760) cash prize while winning emerging photographers will be awarded a $1,000 (€920) cash prize. Plus, the Photojournalism / Documentary category emerging photographer will also receive a Sony A7M4 camera with a SEL24-70GM2 lens.
Radar Festival 2024 Open Call / Deadline 30 August / Entry fee €10
Photographers are welcome to submit their project connected to this edition's theme, Futuri Imperfetti (Imperfect Futures), photography and community as shared tools for social and environmental innovation. Ecology, environment, circular economy, activism, social change, sustainable development, land enhancement, and community are the focus of the open call launched by Radar Festival. One selected photographer will be awarded the production of an exhibition which will be set up together with the other projects exhibited at the festival, in Trani, Italy, from 4 October to 30 November 2024. Plus, more prizes will be awarded.
