In the framework of Paratissima, the third edition of Liquida Photofestival, is the event that brings together emerging authors and professionals in the world of photography and image curated by Laura Tota.

Overview

Fluid, elusive, ubiquitous, powerful and fleeting: the image of hypermodernity lives within us and we are pervaded by it in every moment of our existence. In what Zygmunt Bauman defined as "liquid modernity", photography also adapts to a malleability of form and content made possible not only by technology, but by a new approach by society to the image itself. Every individual today is a producer and consumer of images through which he relates to others, attributing to photography the value of a universal language. We soon moved on to a “liquid photography” reminiscent of Fontcubert, ephemeral and malleable, increasingly similar to a mental image than to an object photograph.

In this panorama whose future developments are increasingly played on digital and intangible paradigms, Liquida Photofestival wants to be a reference to restore, as much as possible, the state of photographic research in its different forms of expression and the state of the image at the precise moment of its manifestation, trying to give voice to the new talents of contemporary photography, not only from the point of view of authorial production, but also of photographic reflection, involving professionals who today begin their journey in this continuously evolving cosmos become. A festival in which the image flows, following the path of a river that is sometimes impetuous, sometimes docile, but never the same.

This year's theme is Rebirth, an invitation to consider one's existence as a second possibility, an attempt to investigate the infinite possible declinations that life can confront us with beyond the expectations imposed by the canons social.

Redefining ourselves, re-inventing ourselves, relocating ourselves within the dynamics of society and the relationship with ourselves: from purification to the re-discovery of one's body and one's identity, Rebirth outlines the space of possibilities that every day we can and must choose to be conscious entities on our journey.

Starting from the purifying and restorative power of the water of the placid portraits of the photographer Denisse Ariana Pérez, passing through the tension towards a new form of conscious and solidly social identity of the Woman by Ada Marino , we arrive at the delicacy of Bianca, Sandra 's project Lazzarini who asks to perceive one's uneven skin as a canvas on which to build the future dialogue with our body, in a redefinition and acceptance of oneself far from the stereotypes of contemporary beauty. Finally, Filippo Barbero 's Borderland project invites the observer to rediscover his own essence in the present through a rereading of places, emotions, visions recalled from the places of his past.

During the Festival week, guided tours with the authors, editorial presentations in the EdiTable section, and free portfolio reviews are planned. EdiTable is the section of Liquida Photofestival dedicated to publishing. The table, hosted in the evocative former stables, will host a series of publications in line with the concept of this second edition of Liquida, selected by Vittoria Fragapane (Book Editor of the Swiss publishing house ArtPhilein). The public will be able to browse, consult and purchase collectible publications and magazines.

Among the exhibited photographers in the solo and collective shows are Peter Pflügler, Lello Muzio, Angela Crosti, Francesca Stano, Guglielmo Cherchi, Philip Zanella, Gaia Caramellino, Viviana Bonura, Alessio Rutigliano, Guglielmo Chiara Paderi and Daniel Robots.
