LanghePhotoFestival is an event dedicated to contemporary auteur photography, which each year develops a specific theme through the works of internationally renowned photographers.

Overview

With the aim of promoting and enhancing the language of photography, the festival encourages encounters between young talents and established authors, offering the public an engaging exhibition experience.

Once again this year, the event takes place in Neive, Italy, one of the most representative villages of the Langhe, where the artistic and landscape heritage is integrated with the exhibition itinerary. Among historic buildings, cobbled alleys and unconventional spaces, the festival is configured as an opportunity for in-depth study and discovery of art photography in a context of great cultural value.

Among the exhibited artists is Rinko Kawauchi, who will present M/E, a new series that she started in 2019. The letters stand for “Mother” and “Earth,” merging to form both “Mother Earth” and “Me.” At first glance, the images in the series, depicting volcanoes and ice floes in Iceland and the snowy landscapes of Hokkaido, may seem remote and disconnected from the daily scenes of the COVID-19 pandemic that accompany them. However, both types of images document events that are happening on the planet we live on today, and Kawauchi's art makes us aware of the connection between them.

Other featured artists are Cinzia Laliscia, Francesco Anselmi, Francesco Comello, Trent Davis Bailey, and Ciro Battiloro. Plus, the collective show LanghePhotoPrize 2025 presents the 17 finalist projects selected from the LanghePhotoPrize 2025 Open Call, promoted by the LAC Cultural Association.
