For its tenth edition, Landskrona Foto Festival turns its attention to Displacement, exploring how movement, rupture, and transformation shape the ways we understand place, identity, and belonging.

Overview

Once every other year, the city of Landskrona in southern Sweden becomes a meeting place for contemporary photography through Landskrona Foto Festival. The tenth edition of the festival focuses on Displacement – a condition that defines our present in many forms, from war, migration, and environmental crises to changing experiences of identity, place, and belonging.

Rather than referring only to physical movement across borders, displacement also addresses the emotional, social, and cultural shifts that shape how people relate to the world around them. The festival brings together artists from different backgrounds who approach these questions through diverse photographic practices and perspectives.

In 2026, 17 photographic projects will be presented at Landskrona Theater, transforming the venue into a space for encounters with contemporary image-making. Alongside the exhibitions, the festival programme includes artist talks, discussions, and events that invite visitors to engage with photography as a way of understanding complex realities.

A central part of the festival is the Photobook Days, dedicated to the photobook as an artistic and publishing medium. Taking place at Landskrona Theater, the programme brings together photographers, publishers, and audiences through a photobook market, book presentations, exhibitions, and conversations. A dedicated reading area at Landskrona Konsthall offers visitors the opportunity to discover a wide selection of contemporary photobooks in a relaxed setting.
