The Indian Photo Festival (IPF) showcases a wide range of photography from India and around the globe with a series of events including talks and discussions, exhibitions, portfolio reviews, screenings, book launches and workshops.
Overview
The festival strives to promote the art of photography and, at the same time, address social issues through the medium of photography, therefore creating a platform for professional and aspiring photographers, photography lovers and the public. The 10th edition of IPF will be presented at the State Gallery of Art, Madhapur, and other venues across Hyderabad. The event is free and open to the public.
Running since 2005, the festival showcases an extensive range of photography from India and across the globe. This year's edition offers an exciting lineup of events, including talks, exhibitions, portfolio reviews, screenings, book launches, and workshops. Notable highlights include guest speakers like Sabeena Gadihoke, Matt Stuart, and Catrine Val, along with celebrated industry professionals such as Matt Black, who will lead workshops titled Crafting Your Narrative and Street Photography Workshop.
Additionally, Vineet Vohra will host a Smartphone Photography workshop, with applications opening soon along with portfolio review sessions with National Geographic.
The Indian Photo Festival Portrait Prize 2024 is a portrait competition open to photographers from the Indian subcontinent. For decades, portraiture has captured the essence of people, time periods, and cultures, and this award aims to highlight compelling portraits while uncovering extraordinary talent. Photographers from the Indian subcontinent, aged 18 and over, are eligible to submit up to five entries. The final deadline for submissions is October 27, 2024.
