Bucharest Photofest 2023

The 8th edition of the Romanian festival brings together 20+ local and international artists spread over 50 activities throughout the centre of Bucharest.

Overview

Bucharest Photofest is a platform-festival intended to acquaint the public with up-to-date, relevant photography creators, both local and international. Each year, the festival devises a program consisting of exhibitions, film screenings, talks, workshops, masterclasses, portfolio presentations and the Bucharest Photofest Conference. 

In the 2023 edition photographers, filmmakers, directors, writers and storytellers will explore different perspectives surrounding the theme of Identity. Expanding beyond photographic language, the festival presents multiple artistic happenings that represent the amplitude of the Romanian cultural scene. In the spotlight, live music concerts, film screenings followed by Q&A sessions with directors and special guests, and group exhibitions presenting themes ranging from the refugee crisis to Icelandic and Dutch perspectives on photography. Guests include artists from Denmark, The Netherlands, Iceland, Germany, France, Greece, Romania, Brazil, USA, and UK.
