Twenty years after opening its doors to emerging photographers with the exhibition reGeneration: 50 Photographers of Tomorrow, Photo Elysée continues its commitment to young creators.

Overview

In 2025, the museum will unveil a new chapter in this adventure with Gen Z: Shaping a New Gaze, a show that brings together the work of more than 60 photographers from across the world, primarily from Generation Z – commonly defined as those born between the mid-1990s and 2010.

Using a wide range of visual languages, these young artists explore topics important to their generation: the transformation of home and family ties, representations of the body and gender, and the co-existence of multiple and shifting identities. Their work reflects a pressing need for representation and a desire to tell their own story in a constantly changing world.

The exhibition showcases powerful personal narratives as well as a vibrant collective energy. It reveals an interweaving of experiences, cultures and contexts in which the personal is political. Gen Z: Shaping a New Gaze offers an insight into the concerns of a generation that both challenges and seeks its place in the world.

Among the featured artists are Delali Ayivi, Chloé Azzopardi, Hidhir Badaruddin, Jeremy Chih-Hao Chuang, River Claure, Thaddé Comar, Matthieu Croizier, Sara De Brito Faustino, Alina Frieske, Claudia Fuggetti, Mahalia Taje Giotto, Pia-Paulina Guilmoth, Francesca Hummler, Phương Nguyên Lê, Carla Rossi, Emma Sarpaniemi, D. M. Terblanche, Varvara Uhlik, Farren van Wyk, Zhidong Zhang, and more.
