Three selected photographers will each receive a solo exhibition at the Verzasca Foto Festival in Ticino, Switzerland, with board and lodging provided to attend the opening. One of them will also be awarded CHF 2,000.

Overview

Verzasca Foto aims to promote emerging international photographers and to support visual arts in rural and peripheral areas by giving them the freedom to express themselves through the connection to and dialogue with nature. This year Verzasca Foto will launch the 12th edition of the Verzasca Foto Festival, a warm and inviting festival which has quickly become a beloved event by photography experts, photographers, and amateurs internationally.

Practical Info

Submissions must consist of photographic projects (digital, analogue, or mixed) composed of a selection of 3-10 images, with no theme restrictions. Projects should be accompanied by a title and a short project description/artist statement.

The prize recipient will be awarded CHF2,000, a solo exhibition, board and lodging in Ticino during the Verzasca Foto Festival, 3-7 September 2025. The 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded a solo show each, plus board and lodging during the festival. Additionally, seven finalists will receive an invitation to present their work at the Night of Photography (Notte della Fotografia) event, plus board and lodging to attend the event.

The jury is composed of Simone Azzoni (Lecturer in Contemporary Art and Art Critic for Artribune and Juliet Art Magazine), Emmanuelle Halkin (Independent Curator and Editor), Diana Poole (Art Advisor and Co-Founder of Der Greif Studio), Amelie Schüle (Director of Photoforum Pasquart), Marta Szymanska (Curator and Creator in Fotofestiwal - International Festival of Photography in Lodz), and Alfio Tommasini (Photographer, Curator and Director of Verzasca Foto).
