The Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant (IPPG) supports young and emerging photographers as they embark on their career in the world of photojournalism. They offer financial support, mentorship and ongoing assistance for the promotion of their work.

Overview

IPPG started over three decades ago in honour of photojournalist Ian Parry who died while on assignment for The Sunday Times during the Romanian revolution in 1989 at the age of 24. Each year they hold a free and globally reaching open call and award which strives to spotlight new talent in photojournalism.

Practical Info

Prizes include £10,000 towards a chosen project, mentorship, loan of equipment, portfolio reviews, assignment and exhibitions.

Candidates must be young photographers who are 24 or under, or undertaking a full-time photographic course. They should sent a portfolio of 12 photographs, either a photo essay or individual photos and a project proposal for the scholarship.

The Ian Parry Memorial Fund is an institution founded in honour of photojournalist Ian Parry that has been supporting young photojournalists or those in full time education for the last 32 years.
