The Hopper Prize Fall 2023

The Hopper Prize is now accepting entries for their Fall 2023 artist grants, open to artists & photographers worldwide working in all media.

Overview

The Hopper Prize was established to provide grants, visibility, and career enhancing validation to artists who demonstrate a serious commitment to their work. They accept submissions from artists working in any media through a bi-annual open call. Each grant cycle is juried by a new team of contemporary curators from major institutions who select grant winners on the basis of artistic excellence and the promise of future potential.

Practical Info

Six artists will be selected to receive unrestricted cash grants totalling $11,000. Submissions will be juried by Laura Phipps, Assistant Curator of Whitney Museum of American Art, and Rachel Winter, Assistant Curator of Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum. In addition to grant recipients, the curators select a shortlist of 30 artists to have their work archived alongside grant winners and receive additional online exposure.

The Hopper Prize is a grant-making institution and digital archiving platform offering a series of individual merit based artist grants on a bi-annual basis. It was established to increase recognition of the work of visual artists.
