Textile Exchange: Fashion Regenerated 2026

One photographer will receive a $10,000 commissioned assignment to document regenerative practices across the fashion industry, with publication by Atmos and Textile Exchange and exhibition at the 2026 Textile Exchange Conference in Vancouver, Canada.

Overview

This years award is organized by Textile Exchange in partnership with Atmos. Under the theme Fashion Regenerated, photographers and filmmakers are invited to document real-world examples of regeneration across the fashion, textile, and apparel industry. The competition seeks visual stories that demonstrate how raw materials can be grown and produced in ways that restore ecosystems, strengthen communities, and support livelihoods. The call focuses on existing projects that make regeneration visible through compelling documentary storytelling.

Practical Info

The competition is open to photographers and filmmakers of any nationality. Applicants may submit up to two completed projects – each consisting of up to 25 images, a short film, or a combination of both –, a biography, and a project statement. Mixed-media works based on original photography are permitted, while generative AI imagery is prohibited. All submissions must have the appropriate model releases and third-party clearances to be eligible for prizes.

The Grand Prize is a $10,000 commissioned assignment with Textile Exchange to produce a new body of work, including production and travel costs. The completed project will be published by Textile Exchange and Atmos and exhibited at the 2026 Textile Exchange Conference. Two Runners-up each receive a $2,000 cash prize, publication by Textile Exchange, and exhibition at the conference.
