Overview

In a world saturated with images and technological promises, to keep looking in wonder is already an act of freedom. 20 Ways To Escape is an open invitation to explore routes of escape–real or symbolic–from whatever confines us: routine, memory, borders, digital noise, even our own image. What are you escaping from? Where to? What ways have you found to slip away?

The theme is deliberately broad. Revela’t welcomes literal or metaphorical, intimate, social, political, poetic, or formal interpretations. They seek diversity and heterogeneity; they will take care of weaving curatorial coherence to articulate a shared exhibition narrative.

Practical Info

The call is open to established and emerging authors. Revela’t is looking for projects created with analog photography or photochemical/alternative processes (film in all formats, historical processes, hybrid workflows with analog output, photograms, cyanotypes, platinum – palladium, etc.); series completed or in an advanced stage, suitable for production or transport and gallery exhibition; projects that engage–directly or indirectly–with 20 Ways To Escape. They value proposals with a clear curatorial concept, suggested display/mediation strategies, and well-defined technical materials.

Three projects will be selected to be produced (or transported) and exhibited at the 14th edition of Revela't, May–June 2026 in Vilassar de Dalt, Barcelona, Spain.

The 1st Prize winner will receive up to €1,000 in production and/or transport support, travel support up to €150 to attend the main weekend, and two nights of accommodation, along with a Full Pass including access to the professional Brunch, inclusion in the program, and a meeting with industry professionals. The 2nd and 3rd Prize winners will each receive up to €500 in production and/or transport support, travel support up to €100, two nights of accommodation, a Full Pass + Brunch, inclusion in the program, and meetings with professionals. Additionally, all submitted proposals, whether selected or not, may be included in a public digital projection at the festival's main venue throughout Revela't 2026.

The jury is composed of Isabel Elorrieta (Cultural Manager), Fernando Peracho Murillo (Valid Foto BCn Gallery Director), and Arianna Rinaldo (Independent Curator and Educator).

About Revela'T

Revela't – Festival of Contemporary Analog Photography is the first analog photography festival in the world, held annually in Vilassar de Dalt (Barcelona, Spain). One month devoted to photochemical culture: exhibitions (the heart of the festival), a market, workshops, portfolio reviews, residencies, cinema, talks, and activities. A close, supportive approach– curatorial and technical–is part of Revela't's DNA. During the Main Weekend, artists, gallerists, editors, and curators come together for guided tours, professional meet-ups, and a networking brunch.
