Les Rencontres de la Photographie de Marrakech is an international festival dedicated to contemporary photography. Each edition brings together photographers, curators, institutions, collectors, researchers, and the general public for a program of exhibitions, screenings, lectures, workshops, and professional networking.

Committed to supporting emerging talent and fostering intercultural dialogue, Les Rencontres de la Photographie de Marrakech has established the Prix Yzza Slaoui de la Découverte. This prize aims to discover and support a Moroccan photographer whose work demonstrates a personal vision, genuine artistic quality, and strong potential for development.

Created in memory of Yzza Slaoui, the Award celebrates rigorous, free, and open-minded photography, reflecting the values of transmission and innovation that characterized her life and career.

Practical Info

The Award is open exclusively to photographers who are of Moroccan nationality. The project submitted must be unpublished in Morocco or must not have been featured in a solo exhibition in Morocco. Priority will be given to supporting and guiding emerging photographers. The theme of the project is open. Applicants must submit a photographic project consisting of 15 to 30 photographs, presented in the intended order and clearly numbered. Images must be provided in JPEG format at high resolution, suitable for printing at a minimum size of 30 cm on the longest side at 300 dpi. The images may be submitted via a download link.

The selected project will receive a solo exhibition or an official screening as part of Les Rencontres de la Photographie de Marrakech 2027, a €2,000 grant awarded by an international jury composed of recognized figures from the fields of photography, contemporary art, publishing, and cultural institutions, such as Abdellah Oustad, Adrian Radzyminski, Valentina Sinis, Vilma Dobilaite, Noureddine El-Warari.
