Pride Photo strives to expand its horizons, and those of its audiences, through a rich, multi-faceted and diverse collection of stories from, and representational of, the global LGBTQIA+ community.

Overview

Pride Photo invites photographers all to apply, and hope to see this openness reflected in the submissions for the 2025 Pride Photo Contest. Whether through documentary photography that highlights news events, and the realities of daily life, or whether through artistic expression using portraiture, collage, photographic intervention, or AI. The Pride Photo Contest is open to all formats of photography and image-based storytelling that work to express the varied and multifaceted lives and lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community from around the world.

Each year a newly selected independent jury of professionals in the field of photography is brought together as a panel to review the contest entrants and come to a decision on the Pride Photo 2025 collection.

Every year, the exhibition is officially opened as a publicly-accessible exhibition in the centre of Amsterdam. The exhibition goes on to travel throughout the Netherlands, and in galleries, public spaces, museums internationally.

Practical Info

The Pride Photo 2025 Contest is open to photographers of all ages, backgrounds and calibers, from professional to amateur. The contest is free to enter and open to professional and amateur photographers, and consists of two categories: Singles and Series. Submitted works should correspond to Pride Photo’s main ambition, to represent the plurality and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride Photo invites works that represent a broad spectrum of the community and open up our perspective on inclusivity, LGBTQIA+ lives, and the Queer community, as well as the way we think and question established ideas of engagement. Applicants can submit video stills and/or installation shots as part of the images for a series. Make sure to explain that these are stills from a video or installation shots in the series description. It's not possible to upload the video itself but in both cases, you may provide a link in the description.

Selected photographers will receive a €500 fee and will be displayed in the Pride Photo Exhibition 2025. The jury is composed by Mohamad Abdouni, Lee-Ann Olwage, J.G. Basdew, Dilys Ng and Maurits de Bruijn.
