Editorial La Luminosa and FELIFA will publish the winning book in an edition of 300 copies.

Overview

The winning book will be published by Editorial La Luminosa and FELIFA, in an edition of 300 copies. The printing will be in charge of Akian Gráfica Editora. The presentation of the book will take place in an event organized jointly by La Luminosa and FELIFA.

The finalist dummies will be announced through the website and networks of the festival and the publisher. The selected projects will be exhibited during the festival, will become part of FELIFA's Digital Library and will be disseminated through FELIFA and La Luminosa's networks.

Practical Info

The call is open to authors born in or nationalized in Latin American countries, with no age limit. Each participant may submit one or more projects, as long as one entry is made for each title. Projects that have already been published may be submitted as long as they have been published in print runs of no more than 30 copies. The works submitted must have a maximum size of 21x29 cm closed, a maximum of 96 pages and soft covers (they can have flaps).

Authors must complete the registration form attaching the model of the project in a single PDF file that includes the interiors and covers and the proof of payment. Applications will be received until June 1, 2025 at 23.59 Argentina time.

Selected dummies will be part of the traveling exhibition through the network of festivals. Among the finalists, a winning project and up to two special mentions will be selected. This selection will be made by the organizers of the award such as Editorial La Luminosa, FELIFA and Akian Gráfica Editora. The winner will receive 50 copies of their printed book as a royalty payment.

About FELIFA

FELIFA - Festival de Libros de Fotografía y Artes Gráficas is a biannual meeting of photographers, publishers, artists, designers, and the general public, which since 2002 has been dedicated to promoting the production and dissemination of photography books in Latin America. It has held 17 editions in Buenos Aires and 13 in other cities in Argentina and other countries in the region. The main players in the photography and publishing market in Latin America have participated in these editions. Thousands of artists, photographers, publishers and the general public have participated in the activities that have taken place, making this festival a reference space for the entire region.

La Luminosa is a publisher based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, specialized in the publication of photography books in carefully numbered and signed editions. Since 2010 they have awarded a prize to publish in book format to the best photographic project in Latin America.
