Since 2005, Premio Marco Bastianelli has welcomed Italian photographers to submit their works.

Overview

Books by Italian photographers (co-edition/co-publishing with foreign partners is allowed) produced and distributed for sale in the year 2023 are eligible for the open call.

Practical Info

The award grants recognition in two categories of books: works by Italian authors published by a publishing house and works by Italian authors self-published. To participate in the Marco Bastianelli Award, authors and/or publishers must send a copy of the book with the participation form attached to the regulations and a brief introduction note about the book.

The books must be sent to: Dieciquindici APS - PMB 2024, Via Amerigo Vespucci 24, 00153 Rome, from March 1, 2024, and no later than June 30, 2024. The postmark will be valid. The received books will not be returned. A selection of the books will be kept in the photographic library of the Marco Bastianelli Award and will be available for consultation in spaces dedicated to photographic publishing, at festivals and events dedicated to visual arts, and will be part of a traveling collection available to photography school students and in places designated to host photography projects.

About Premio Marco Bastianelli

The award, in memory of the journalist Marco Bastianelli and his commitment to photographic publishing, aims to promote the photographic book in its form as a complete and innovative project in photography, graphics, and the descriptive capacity of storytelling, and in the extreme freedom to experiment with form, structure, materials, and content that the art book offers, measuring itself with the compositional space of the page and the image.
