Lumínic Festival 2026 Open Call

The Lumínic Festival 2026 in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona, Spain) invites photographers worldwide to submit projects exploring the poetic power of images.

Overview

The festival, known for transforming the city into a space for visual exploration and dialogue around contemporary photography, invites authors from all backgrounds, both established and emerging, national and international, to submit their work for the open call.

For its upcoming edition, the theme of the call revolves around poetics in photographic language. The organizers invite artists to reflect on how photography goes beyond representation; how it can suggest, evoke, and create emotional or conceptual resonances that transform the way we look and perceive. The aim is to showcase projects that explore the poetic potential of the photographic image and open new experiential and interpretive spaces.

Practical Info

Submissions must include 10-15 photographs. Projects will be accepted in any technique, method, and materialization as long as it can be included in the photographic visual art.

Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work at the next edition of the Lumínic Festival, in the city of Sant Cugat del Vallès, Catalonia, Spain, which will take place between May, June and July 2026. Two first prize recipients and 10 second prizes will be selected. LUMÍNIC will be responsible for the production of the work for a maximum amount of €500 or, if this is already produced, with the remuneration of € 500 in fees (taxes included in both cases).

The ten second prizes awards will be given with two different exhibition formats. The first consists of the projection of the project during the opening of the exhibition of the winner of the call, sharing the works among all the prize winners and creating an artistic community. The second option is optional for the artist and involves participating in a group exhibition in Blanca gallery in Sant Cugat del Vallès, forming part of the Luminic Festival exhibition circuit with the contribution of a work produced by the artist.
