Ten selected single shots and one photographic project will be exhibited during Liquida Photofestival held in Turin, Italy.

Overview

In its aim to promote young photographic talents, Liquida Photofestival cannot avoid the need to convey new visual narratives as much as possible. This is why the Liquida Grant was born, which will reward the best proposals among those received with collective exhibitions in Turin and in partner cities/locations, editorial publications, exclusive interviews and more.

A jury of new photography professionals will select the 10 best single shots and the best photographic project,  thus restoring the power of the image in telling the kaleidoscope of contemporaneity.

Practical Info

Applicants can choose to participate in the Liquida Grant in two different ways, depending on the content they intend to submit. It is possible to apply for both types.

One Shot / Each candidate may submit 1-5 images, not necessarily belonging to the same artistic project, and thus apply for the different prizes that will be explained below. The are no restrictions on the theme. Each shot can be released from the others and more than one type of shots pertaining to different types of research can be submitted.

Selected images of this category will be part of a group show during Liquida Photofestival 2025 (May 8-11, 2025), Paratissima Torino 2025 (Turin Art Week in November), and at FOCUS - De Pietri Artphilein Foundation in Lugano, Switzerland, in 2026. Additionally, the selected images will also be featured in the ImageNation Milan exhibition in Milan, Italy, in September 2025. A publication in Discarded Magazine and an editorial in Iconic Artist are part of the prizes too.

Full Project / This mode of participation involves the submission of an entire photographic project. It will be possible to apply 6-10 images, even in the case of larger projects; in this case, supplementary images may be requested by the Art Direction. An abstract will also be required in the entry form. The theme of the submitted projects is open. It is important, however, that all images submitted can be traced back to the same photographic project.

For the Full Project category, one selected artist will have a solo show during Liquida Photofestival 2025 (May 08 - 11, 2025) and at FOCUS - De Pietri Artphilein Foundation, Lugano, Switzerland, in 2026. In addition, Vittoria Fragapane will award the publication of a photobook with Swiss publisher Artphilein. Plus, prizes also include a publication in Discarded Magazine and an editorial in Iconic Artist. Additionally, the winning photographer will have the opportunity to exhibit the shot selected by the jury at ImageNation Milan in September 2025 at the Luciana Matalon Foundation.

The jury is composed of Alex Urso (Artribune Editor, Independent Curator and Director of FIUTO Art Space, Artist), Rosa Lacavalla (Photographer and Visual Artist), Laura Tota (Independent Curator and Artistic Director Liquida Photofestival), Vittoria Fragapane (Photographer, Curator and Photobook Designer) and Gian Marco Sanna (Curator of Discarded Magazine and Co-founder of LISA).

About Paratissima

Since 2005 Paratissima has been supporting independent artists and operators in the artistic-cultural sector in the acquisition, development and growth of their skills and professionalism. Since its inception, Paratissima has conceived and produced contemporary art exhibitions, aimed at promoting and spreading emerging art, becoming today a point of reference for all those who want to approach the world of trade fairs and the art market.

Following the incremental success of the event which takes place during the Turin Art Week, the production has seen the same format move nationally (Cagliari, Milan, Bologna) and internationally (Lisbon, Skopje), to then give life to the production of exhibitions signed by the big names in contemporary art. Today, in addition to its own event production, PRS offers its experience and expertise to public and private entities for external production.
