Located in Marrakech, the Montresso Art Foundation supports contemporary creation by offering artists a unique residency setting conducive to experimentation and artistic production.
Overview
The residency duration is between one and three months. Artists may be invited to return to continue their research based on the initial project or to develop new projects in collaboration with the Foundation. The Foundation’s team communicates in English, Arabic, and French.
Practical Info
Montresso Art Foundation’s residency at Jardin Rouge is open to visual artists (drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography). There are no restrictions based on nationality or age, but applicants must demonstrate a significant professional artistic background. Applications must include an artistic project presentation (description of the project, techniques used, sketches, and estimated budget), a portfolio from the last 3 years (maximum of 15 pages with captioned works), a biography, and a CV.
The Foundation provides the technical, material, and financial support necessary to complete the artist’s project, and will finance the production of the approved project, covering transportation, meals, and all required materials. The artist will be provided with a private studio and accommodation on the residency site. In addition to tailored human and technical support throughout the residency, the Foundation offers opportunities for local and international networking. Events organized within the Foundation and with various cultural and artistic partners provide artists with multiple opportunities to present their work.
About Montresso Art Foundation
Present in Morocco since 2009, Montresso Art Foundation is a hybrid space committed to nurturing artistic creation and fostering the diverse domains of contemporary artistic research. Through its artist residency, exhibition spaces, and partnerships, the foundation guides artists on a multifaceted path where cultural encounters and interdisciplinary dialogue lead their gaze towards uncharted horizons.
By asserting an alternative dimension of the present, art enables individuals to self-identify, be moved and question. As artists explore their relationship with the world and unveil unprecedented perspectives, Montresso Art Foundation embraces its role as a PASSEUR D'ART.
