Scheduled from May 25 to June 30, 2024 in Taranto, Artlab Eyeland is launching the 2nd edition of Isola Madre, an open call open to all artists in the Taranto area, with the aim of enhancing the productions of the local and neighborhood art fabric.

Overview

Addressing authors residing or domiciled in the province of Taranto, the open call made in collaboration with Salgemma, aims to trigger a reflection on the territorial cultural and creative context and open opportunities to professionals working in that context.

Isola Madre is dedicated to the promotion of talents developing visual expressions of contemporary art and is open to different artistic languages: from painting to sculpture, from photography to video, from installation to illustration.

Practical Info

The open call is addressed to artists or collectives born/residents/domiciled/which operate in the city and province of Taranto, Italy. Participation is free of charge and is completed by submitting your application through the online form. Applicants interested into the photography section must submit a work of 10-20 images, including its title, a PDF with a brief description of the work of maximum 200 words and related multimedia apparatus, a CV or brief biography. One winner will be awarded a solo exhibition at the 2024 edition of Artlab Eyeland (Mother Island Prize 2024) and the finalist projects will be exhibited as part of the festival program.

About Eyeland

The Eyeland - The island of arts project is created by PhEST, a cultural association that has been organizes the International Festival of Photography and Art in Monopoli, in collaboration with the Municipality of Taranto through the Social Regeneration Plan for the crisis area of Taranto, and with the patronage of the Puglia Region and the National Superintendence for cultural heritage diver based in Taranto.
