Fotografia Europea 2024

The call for Fotografia Europea is now open for new talents and new perspectives on contemporary reality. The theme of the 2024 edition is Nature Loves to Hide.

Overview

Fotografia Europea has always been committed to enhancing the winning projects with site-specific research and experimenting together with the artist. In 2024 the festival’s theme deals with co-existence as a part of all life on Earth. The context is the Anthropocene and histories play out both at a hyper-local scale and on the planetary stage to speak to ideas of symbiosis, sustainability, and climate emergency.

Practical Info

The 19th edition of the festival in Reggio Emilia, Italy, will take place from 26 April to 9 June 2024. Any photographer, curator, European or Europe-based collective of any age, with a project that explores this year’s theme from a creative and unusual perspective is welcome to apply. 

Projects should contain a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 images each. The selected artists will receive a fee of 3,000 € for the concept and production of the exhibition that will become part of the festival programme.

Fotografia Europea is an international cultural festival dedicated to contemporary photography. The festival, created in 2006, is promoted by the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia.
