The fourth edition of Fotografia Europea photobook award in collaboration with Skinnerboox is now open for submissions.
Overview
Submissions are now open for the FE+SK Book Award, the call promoted by Fotografia Europea together with Skinnerboox, the publishing house based in Jesi (Ancona, Italy) and specialised in contemporary photography and visual arts: we are looking for a project that will become a photo book.
Practical Info
Applications are open to all European (or resident in Europe) photographers, curators, and collectives of any age. The submitted project does not necessarily have to be already edited and designed and can be self-published (printed in less than 100 copies). The winning project will be published by Skinnerboox and presented during the opening days of the festival (24-27 April 2025). The book will be printed with a print run of 500 copies.
The jury is composed of Milo Montelli (founder Skinnerboox), Tim Clark ( Fotografia Europea Artistic direction) and Chiara Capodici (Leporello photobooks et al.).
About Fotografia Europea
Fotografia Europea is an international cultural festival dedicated to contemporary photography. The festival, created in 2006, is promoted by the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia and it won Photo Festival of the Year at the Lucie Awards 2022 in New York.
Fotografia Europea uses photography as a tool to reflect upon the complexity of the contemporary living following the lesson of the local photographer Luigi Ghirri, a prominent figure in the late ‘900s photography’s renewal, whose archive is stored in the city. The festival takes place in different locations of the city, both public and private, formal and informal, and it consists of a central core of exhibitions among which new ad hoc commissioned productions, related to a specific theme identified every year by the Scientific Committee. The exhibitions are accompanied by a rich program of events, conferences, screenings, workshops, portfolio reviews and site specific performances.
