Selected artists will receive curated portfolio review meetings with leading photography experts, opportunities for public presentation and networking, and potential for further collaboration, all within the context of the EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival.
Overview
EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival calls for one of a kind Portfolio Review. After successful editions in Fotofestiwal Lodz, Poland, both festivals join forces again, bringing this innovative formula to Italy for the second time in 2025, called EXPOSED PHOTOMATCH.
EXPOSED PHOTOMATCH reinvents the traditional portfolio review by emphasizing open networking events and public presentations. Based on a democratic and inclusive model, free of charge, it allows experts and artists to share experiences, work, and motivations in the same space. One-to-one meetings are the result of this exchange, fostering meaningful connections.
The Photomatch format was created by Lodz Fotofestiwal in Lodz, Poland and has fostered many fruitful collaborations over the years. Learn more by reading our article, which presents Photo-Match, Fotofestiwal's Horizontal Portfolio Reviews in Łódź, featuring interviews with Krzysztof Candrowicz and Mafalda Ruão.
Practical Info
Artists must apply by filling in the online form, and send a preview of 10 photographs from the project they would like to present during the review, sent in a JPG or PNG format, preferably size of 1920 px length, in a separate email to photomatch@exposed.photography. Artists that were applying and selected in the previous year, can apply again with no restrictions.
The event is held in two days, 17-18 April 2025. The first day is for Presentations and Matching. It’s a day dedicated to both photographers and experts to introduce themselves, their work, and practice through short live presentations. The event is open to EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival’s audience, including festivalgoers and city visitors who wish to attend, allowing artists and reviewers to expand their network. Based on these introductions and their impressions, each participant will choose 2 reviewers (for photographers) or 2 artists (for experts) with whom they would like to meet and share their work. By the end of this day, each attendee will have 4 meetings scheduled for the next day.
The second day is dedicated to Meetings. All participants attend private meetings in accordance with the timetable generated based on the choices made on the previous day. Every photographer and expert attends 4 meetings. For those who want, EXPOSED PHOTOMATCH will finish with 1 open extra session, offering a chance to exchange ideas with someone with whom there was no previous match.
Reviewers include experts such as Giuseppe Oliverio (PhMuseum), Arianna Rinaldo (Phest), Enrico Stefanelli (Photolux), Francesca Cirilli (JEST), Julia Rajacic (Independent curator), Krzysztof Candrowicz (Fotofestiwal), Lea Vene (Organ Vida Festival), Marta Szymańska (Fotofestiwal), Matteo Mottin (Treti Galaxie), Silvia Mangosio and Luca Vianello (Mucho Mas! Gallery), Tomaso Clavarino (JEST), and Veronica Daltri (Photo Editor, Il Manifesto).
