In view of the seventh edition of its Photography Festival, Grenze-Arsenali Fotografici will select six different projects to exhibit from September to October 2024 within the historical venue Bastione delle Maddalene, located in the center of Verona.

Overview

Der Verzicht. Powerlessness: take a step backwards. Take a step aside when facing the unknown, something too big to deal with, too difficult, too much. In defense of giving up. In praise of vulnerability. Failure counts. Against careerism, and presumption. Against conflict, instinct, and rivalry. Substance breaks down, something else is done. Power-lessness, so that the Act differs from the answer.

Practical Info

The project can be produced by a single photographer or a collective. The work doesn’t have to be necessarily unpublished, and it may be presented in whichever size and material. Video projects will be accepted as well. By the time it is sent, the work must include 10-20 images, the title together with the intro (4000 characters at the latest), and a short biography.

The jury is composed of Luce Lébart Photography (Historian and Curator), Arianna Rinaldo (Independent Curator, Photo Consultant and Freelance Photo Editor), Giusi Pasqualini (Curator and Archivist), Francesca Marra (Curator, Photographer and Photography) and Simone Azzoni (Contemporary Art Professor and Curator).

The winner's project will be printed and exhibited within the Bastione delle Maddalene, in the main section of the Festival. During the opening days, the room and board fees will be expensed.
