Overview

The 2025 Capture Photography Festival runs from April 1–30, 2025. For applicants' programming to be part of the Festival, the exhibition or event must fall within those dates. For an exhibition, it can start well before, or end well after. Exhibitions must be at least two days in length.

Practical Info

Capture is open to film screenings, talks, tours, workshops, community events, and other events related to the subject of photography and lens-based art. Event submissions are not subject to jury evaluation, but they must meet the Festival’s basic criteria of being lens-related and occur during the month of April to be included in the festival programming.

Applications must include the exhibition information such as the exhibition title, start date and end date (must be at least two days in length), reception date (if applicable) and exhibition statement. Plus, they need to also include the artist and curator bio, the venue information, and final images of completed work.

The 2024 jury consisted of Emilie Croning (Curator, Artist, and Art Historian), Monika Szewczyk (Audain Chief Curator, The Polygon Gallery), Emmy Lee Wall (Executive Director and Chief Curator, Capture Photography Festival) and Jin-me Yoon (Professor, School for the Contemporary Arts, Simon Fraser University).

About Capture Photography Festival
