2025 Lucie Photo Book Prize

Beyond the cash prizes of $3,000 and $2,000, selected artists and finalists will gain the opportunity to exhibit their work in a group show at Picto in New York City during the fall.

Overview

The Lucie Photo Book Prize is a juried competition open to a diversity of submissions – from published to prototype to hand-made books. The awards will be presented to photographers, editors, curators or publishers who have created such projects anywhere in the world within March 2023 – October 2025.

The Traditional Prize includes a $3,000 cash prize and will be awarded to a photographer, editor, curator or publisher whose book is commercially produced and distributed. The Independent Prize, consistig of a $2,000 cash prize, will be awarded to a photographer, editor, curator or publisher whose book is published and distributed independently.

Pratical Info

Photographers, editors, and curators are all welcome to submit their books. Eligible entries include exhibition catalogues, proposals, self-published works, limited editions, multi-artist collections, single-author books, intersectional projects, zines, reissues, and more. Submissions must include a selection of images from the project, and a PDF of the complete book.

This year jury is composed of Gwen Lee (Director, Deck and Artistic Director, SIPF), Kira Pollack (Photo Curator), Mikki Takkunen (Staff Photo Editor, International Desk, The New York Times), Dean Brierly (Editor-in-Chied/Art Director, Black & White Magazine), Karen Williams (Visual Creative Director), Nicola Motta (Art Director, Meta), Daniella Zalcman (Founder & Director, Women Photograph).
