One or two selected works will be published by Kult Books in an edition of 100 copies.

Overview

Some books are not meant to be produced in the hundreds. Working in smaller editions allows room for artistic exploration, experimentation, and a certain freedom from economic risk. With this in mind, Kult Books is announcing an open call for one or two projects to be published next spring in a limited print run of 100 copies.

Practical Info

The call is open to artists working primarily with photography, and all photographic styles are welcome. Other media, such as drawing and writing, may be incorporated, but photography must remain the primary medium. AI-generated work will not be accepted. Submissions must include 80-300 low res images or a dummy/PDF, along with a description of the work.

The selected work will be designed by Janne Riikonen, produced in an edition of 100 copies, assigned an ISBN, included in the Kult Books catalogue, and sold at book fairs, online and through bookshops. The selected artist will receive 3 copies of the book, as well as the right to purchase up to 20 additional copies at 60% off the retail price.

The selected artist(s) will be contacted around mid-June for a video call to discuss the project, timeline, and terms.
