Where the Light Waits is a cinematic double-exposure photography series from FATUM Poetry, a collaborative visual project by Los Angeles–based analog film photographer and creative director Henry Plant and poet Destin Judy.
Where the Light Waits is a newly released fine art film photography collection from FATUM Poetry — a collaborative visual project by Los Angeles–based poet Destin Judy and film photographer Henry Plant.
Shot entirely on film across Southern California using layered double exposures and still life, the series investigates emotional memory, spiritual symbolism, transformation, and the instability of perception through cinematic narrative photographs. Created primarily with expired Kodak and Fujifilm stock, each image embraces the unpredictability of analog process, where light leaks, color shifts, storied grain, and overlapping exposures become the language.
Comprising 11 images, the collection unfolds as a visual narrative:
Portal → Crests → Clarity → Eros → Devotion → Rest → Surrender → Alignment → Awaken → Alchemy → Becoming
Originally developed alongside the forthcoming FATUM book project, the series reflects emotional and spiritual states of grief, healing, longing, and self-reclamation. Landscapes and abandoned architecture stand in for humanity. Chairs, keys, swings, barbed wire, desert horizons, and passing light become symbols of reflection and reconciliation.
Rather than pursuing technical perfection, the work leans into process and impermanence. Each frame treats time, light, and accident as collaborators, allowing what is seen and unseen to coexist within a single exposure.
Now available globally as an open-edition fine art collection, Where the Light Waits marks the public release of FATUM’s photographic practice.
