The project is an attempt to capture the unnoticed and unusual, hidden in the banality of everyday life; an exploration and subjective reinterpretation of the nature of ‘territory’.

"Imagine opening your eyes and discovering you are on another planet. Fascinated, you wander in the natural and built places of a new world. Journeys become explorations and narratives are forged in the contemplation of immensity".

As the title suggests, I imagine seeing Earth as a new planet and seek to frame its strange, unusual landscapes. Images function as conceptual constructions in a personal universe in which geometric compositions encompass and diminish the human element.

The series can be viewed as a pilgrimage from open to closed places and vice versa. Lines and paths are symbolic rather than literal and our personal interpretations become signposts in a journey with no logical end.

The result is a refined form of visual storytelling, where narratives are forged from re-invention of the familiar and the promise of the new.
