Undressed

Cap d’Adge is a coastal town in southern France. Considered the largest nudist resort in Europe for more than 20 million nudists worldwide. Families, gyms, beaches. Voyeurs and swingers. Singles and couples. Restaurants and stores. Forty thousand visitors come each year, mainly from Europe and North America, to go about their daily activities in an orgy of colors. It is an idyllic place where the ordinary routines of everyday life take on extraordinary tones. Undressed, people become equals; they are stripped of every economic or religious difference. This parallel world is based on one, single law: privacy must always be safeguarded. A camera in the wrong hands is equivalent to a handgun here; they kill the subjects’ freedom, forcing them back to the life from which they seek to escape. Only from the backside can their identity be kept hidden, thereby creating a multitude of anonymous bodies.
