No one knows anymore when all the entanglements and pains started or will ever end. Just like what Emily Dickinson describes in her poem,“Pain has an element of blank,” everything has been blended, and the limits and the limits have blurred.

About this fish that eagers to fly

A fish that cannot fly but wants to fly is a state of disorder, a state that others cannot

understand but can only stand by and watch. In other words, it is a state of extreme desire,

that a being wants to escape from its original habitat. A fish imagines that a pair of wings

has grown out of its back. Even though they are so thin and tiny, the fish yearns to spread

the wings and fly away. Gradually, the desire turns into anxiety, then into madness, with

only the urge to spread its wings, believing that flying is the only way to escape, and that

escaping is the only way to breathe freely.

The world doesn't seem real anymore. No one knows anymore when all the entanglements

and pains started or will ever end. Just like what Emily Dickinson describes in her poem,

“Pain has an element of blank,” everything has been blended, and the limits have blurred.

This description is like a portrayal of me many years ago, when I encountered all kinds of

doubts, uneasiness, pressure, and frustration. I raised many questions about the meaning

of my life, but found no answers. However, sadness and pain were not my intention in

photography. At that time, photography was more like my only antidote—a dose of spiritual

sustenance that allowed me to catch my breath and temporarily escape from the present,

so I could move forward slowly.
