Thinking Vulnerability explores the emotional connections we experience in contact with others. Getting close to someone requires empathy: a willingness to understand their world and experiences. Through this closeness, we break down any barriers between us and others, between our perceptions of the world.

Thinking about vulnerability and how it manifests is my starting point. Within this work, I want to explore what lies beneath the surface and how I can make these hidden stories visible. Vulnerability and daring to be vulnerable are encountered in all kinds of connections: in a romantic relationship, a friendship, in society, in your work, in how you relate to the world. But also the vulnerability within yourself.

To explore these ideas, I have collaborated with dancers whose bodies speak a language that goes beyond words, and who express emotions and stories that connect us all. This can be raw, or rather a merging of bodies, or a sense of alienation in posture or movement. I explore how different bodies converge, intertwine, or even separate, sometimes creating a new entity. One that exists between the real and the abstract. This new being invites us to recognize our shadows, rather than hide them. But as we approach, we also encounter the discomfort and uncertainty that come with confronting the unknown.
