The Vertical Wave A human recreation of an apparently beautiful existence or reality, but impossible to coexist with Nature itself due to the fact that is incompatible and contrary to it. To all of us inhabitants of the 21st century

As human beings, our project is a reality that needs to be rethought for being incompatible with Nature itself. The sea, the water, origin of life transformed without measure. At our convenience.

Based on our principles and alien at the same time to its essence, it becomes unrecognizable, it blurs. At our whim, it loses its identity. There is nothing else. No trace of humanity. No one out there. Only the essential transformed into unrecognizable realities to us. That essence, however, remains and is willing to subsist. Rethinking the way our society and our humanity have been structured to meet our needs is something that can not be postponed any longer.

The Vertical Wave, our toxic and artificial footprint as humans on Nature nowadays. The landscape metamorphosis that lost its identity in front of us. Within my images there is a dense silence and deep mourning , just along with the traces of our intervention signs. Nothing else is left apart from our hiper-technologization and disconnection from nature nowadays.

I raised and partially published this series on November 24, 2024, five days before the Dana disaster, inmense floodings that took thousands of lives, homes and families in Spain. Coincidence? I guess not.
