Ignoring human borders, I capture the 99%: fungi, microbes, and Earth’s breath. Like Ishiguro’s fog, these faded colors are fragments of a memory we’ve lost, inviting a return to what we’ve forgotten to respect.
These photos would be printed on transparent paper like tracing paper in pastel colours hardly visible but perceivable like memory.
I have faded the images deliberately but we hold on to those good ones in order to be happy. I do not photograph people because humanity is but a fraction of this world, yet we are its most destructive force. My 'Archipelago' is a series of small, nearly invisible islands of beauty—traces of texture and light—that remain when we stop to truly perceive. As Dostoevsky said, 'Beauty will save the world,' and these photos are an invitation to see the beauty we have forgotten to respect.
