The Fringe - PhMuseum

The Fringe is an ongoing exploration of a neglected site on the edge of the city, where the urban fabric meets open fields.

I recently moved nearby and started walking through the area. I still don’t know what used to be there.

Very little remains.

An artificial water reservoir.
A water tower further away.
A few traces of infrastructure.

Most of the site has been overtaken by vegetation. Grass, bushes and trees now cover what once structured the place.

Without knowing its former function, the photographs approach the site as it appears today. Fragments of geometry. Water surfaces. Shifts of light across concrete and plants. Silence.

The area sits between two conditions: the city behind it, and the fields beyond.

A fringe.
