The Fleeting

The dacha is my place of silence and light, where time flows differently. Inspired by Tarkovsky's microcosm in Myasnoye, I capture quiet moments of home, memory, and gentle nostalgia as the present slowly becomes memory.

For me, the dacha is a place of silence, solitude, and light. Here, time seems to flow differently. Natural light gently brings the past and the present together, transforming simple scenes into quiet, deeply personal stories.

The same feeling permeates the village of Myasnoye, a place associated with the name of Andrei Tarkovsky. I am drawn to his idea of the “microcosm” — a confined space in which one can glimpse a reflection of something much larger. For Tarkovsky, the village house was a source of inspiration, inner freedom, and closeness to nature. The photographs from Myasnoye continue this story of home, memory, and fleeting moments.

In this project, nostalgia is rooted in a sense of gentle melancholy and an intimate connection to place, to light, and to those moments in life that pass, leaving behind a warm memory. I return to these states again and again, watching as the present slowly becomes memory.
