Barefoot on the road, swimming in the river Kama, food stamps in the "magasin". Sometimes in Berlin there is a certain smell that reminds me of Tatarstan. Then it draws me into a country, that, after the Soviet Union fell apart, is searching for its identity.
The project explores individual lifes set against traditional values, personal memories, wishes and expectations in Tatarstan – a transitioning semiautonomous republic within Russia.
