Strange Daze

In March of 2020, I returned to my hometown of Perth, Western Australia after living overseas for a number of years.

Perth, which already holds the title of ‘the most isolated city in the world’ was about to become even more isolated when the Western Australian government would close the border to the rest of the world and also the rest of Australia due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

During this time I documented everyday scenes, suburban streets, and neighbourhoods of the city, which I was seeing a new light since returning from overseas.

‘Strange Daze’ explores the themes of suburbia, isolation, and the identity of this remote city, in perhaps the strangest of circumstances in recent history.
