"SON"

A long-term project about my autistic son and our fragile connection. We exist in parallel emotional worlds—like islands—separate, yet deeply connected, searching for ways to communicate, understand, and bridge the distance between us.

“SОN” is a long-term photographic project about my autistic son and our fragile relationship as mother and child. The work moves through intimacy, distance, silence, and the unstable bridges of communication between us. Living close to one another, we often exist in parallel emotional worlds—separate, yet deeply connected.

Through portraits, fragments, symbols, and constructed moments, I try to approach his inner universe while confronting my own fear, love, and uncertainty. The project reflects on isolation and difference, but also carries the hope of greater understanding and acceptance, shared by many families living similar realities.

This project is a candidate for PhMuseum Days 2026 Photography Festival Open Call
