Six cuts

- 13.12.2022 - Six cuts At the first cut I fear At the second I hope At the third It pulls At the fourth I doubt At the fifth I dream At the sixth I only see a haematoma.

Six cuts’ is based on a personal experience and deals with the reappropriation of one's own body image after surgery.

This constellation of images illustrates the somewhat obsessive look that one can have on one's own body by showing at the same time different points of view allowing to define oneself, to find oneself, while remaining also focused on the part which causes so much ambivalence in us in order to better integrate it.

Scars become the only trace, echoing the physicality and immediacy of surgery. They symbolise the before and after of a body - of which it is sometimes difficult to be aware.

Six cuts’ explores the perception of current time and how it is misinterpreted by the body, as well as the time it takes for the body to adapt it to the reality.

At the first cut I fear

At the second I hope

At the third It pulls

At the fourth I doubt

At the fifth I dream

At the sixth I only see a haematoma.

Cuts,

Scars,

Physical and mental representations of my ‘Achalasia’

Anaesthetic serum

Lights fade

Artificial sleep

How will I wake up ?

- 03.01.2023 -

Like everything in my life, it’s always about back and forth.

Sometimes loving you, sometimes hating you

Emotional messy flow.

You still evolve

It doesn’t really change

Time in suspense

You evolved

You evolve

You will evolve

- Post month 3 -

It’s okay

Because

It’s better
