This project explores the gaze in all its directions: looking at a monument, being seen by others, and seeing oneself through the screen. At the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, I photograph those who photograph themselves — not to judge, but to question

In this series, I photograph those who photograph themselves.
At the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, I focus less on the monument than on the way visitors position and perform themselves before it — oscillating between admiration, self-staging and proof of presence.
In a place meant for spiritual elevation, I question the tension between contemplation and self-image: what are we truly trying to convey when we frame ourselves before the sacred? An inner memory — or visible evidence of having been there?
